GovNet Launches Internship Programme to Support the Next Generation of Event Professionals
GovNet is excited to announce the launch of its brand-new internship programme, created to support and nurture emerging talent in the events industry. Designed for students and recent graduates studying Event Management and Marketing at universities across London, this initiative provides valuable, hands-on experience within one of the UK’s leading public sector event organisations.
Delivered in partnership with Inspire Connect – an agency dedicated to bridging the gap between education and industry – the internship offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple departments at GovNet. Interns will gain practical insights and real-world experience within Marketing, VIP Acquisition, and Digital Operations, contributing meaningfully to the business from day one.
Liz Whittingham, Director of Operations and Customer Experience at GovNet, shared her enthusiasm for the programme:
“People make our industry what it is. Supporting new talent is central to our values. This programme isn’t just about shadowing – it’s about validating each person’s experience and giving them the space to truly be part of the team and get a feel for the Events Industry.”
More than just a learning experience, the internship is designed to empower participants to develop their skills, build confidence, and understand the dynamics of working in a fast-paced events environment.
The first intake is set to begin this summer and will coincide with GovNet’s flagship event, HETT Show. During this placement, interns will play a key role in supporting the delivery of exceptional customer value for HETT exhibitors – a fitting introduction to the high-impact world of event execution.
