UK Road Strategy 2010 | Wednesday 29th September 2010 | QEII Conference Centre London

UK Road Strategy 2010 will bring together over 300 key transport professionals with expert speakers to discuss the challenges and solutions to create a smarter, safer and a more efficient road network system in the UK.

Vehicle traffic has grown by a quarter in just 20 years and road congestion now costs the economy an estimated £7-8bn a year, a figure which is likely to more than double by 2025 unless action is taken. Britain’s roads are vital to our economic competitiveness and effective network management is crucial if we are to keep businesses and citizens moving.

UK Road Strategy 2010 will explore the ways in which the, Department for Transport, the Highways Agency, local councils and other transport providers are working together to come up with innovative solutions to tackle congestion and deliver reliable, safer and more environmentally friendly journeys. The conference will look at a variety of key policy areas including intelligent traffic management, the role of new technologies in delivering the governments long term objectives in the transport sector and how an increasing focus on the green and sustainability agenda will help to reduce traffic flow and improve road maintenance.

With the Spending Review due in Autumn and spending cuts and restrictions expected, UK road strategy looks to innovative and effective ways to deliver a smarter, safer and a greener road and transport system. This important discussion will provide delegates with the opportunity to attend expert seminars and provide unrivalled networking opportunities, making this a not to be missed event. We look forward to welcoming you.
