Web Developer

GovNet are currently recruiting for a Web Developer to work in our Central London office joining our IT team to work on our company websites and also development projects.

Responsible for dealing with requests from design and marketing teams, troubleshooting and fixing across all company websites whilst also being involved in development projects. Setting up new websites from template. Working closely with other IT staff on hosting matters and recording technical documentation.


Someone experienced in working in a client facing role with creative and marketing teams, possibly from a digital agency background. This role could suit someone coming from a junior developer role or with 1-2 years’ experience wanting to progress.

Skills and experience


  • Experience working in a small team or alone on projects
  • Excellent experience with WordPress
  • HTML5, CSS, JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, Twitter Bootstrap (responsive design)
  • Experience with SASS / LESS
  • Some sort of Gulp/Grunt experience
  • 2 years PHP experience


  • Basic Linux administration
  • MySQL
